Preferred Alternative to be Determined

Photo of Study AreaThe next step in the study process is to take stakeholder input from the Public Meeting and develop the preferred alternative that best meets the projects Purpose and Need. This involves a five-step process:

  • Select and refine the preferred alternative
  • Complete the analysis of potential impacts
  • Prepare environmental documentation
  • Present the preferred alternative to the CAG and obtain input.
  • Present the preferred alternative and environmental document at a Public Hearing anticipated in Winter/Spring 2017 and obtain input.

Further Evaluation of Selected Alternatives and Preferred Alternative Selection

The further detailed analysis of selected alternatives includes an evaluation of the potential effects on the environment. These findings, in addition to the findings from previous steps, are reported in the Environmental Assessment document. The last step in this process includes further detailed technical and design evaluation associated with the alternatives, resulting in a recommendation of a preferred alternative.
